Plan your event
Planning your event can be really easy and fun. Follow some of our simple steps, such as the 3 W’s, to ensure success!
What can I do?
You might have your own idea already. Whatever you do make your fundraising fun, Think about what resources you have that you can use
Try and think of something that your family and friends are interested in doing
When should you hold your event?
How long will it take you to arrange your event? Keep that in mind when planning your date so you’re not rushed
Attract more people to your fundraiser by checking that no other big events are happening on the same date
What time of year are you having your event? If you’re having a Barbecue the June to August might be better than September
Where are you having your event?
Do you need lots of space to hold a dance? How will people get there? Does your venue have toilets? Do you need parking? There are lots of things to think about. Think about what type of event you are holding and who you are inviting and make a check list of what you need from a venue.
If you need to book a community hall can you arrange to use it for free or for a cheaper rate?
Can friends and family help?
Will other people help you to organise your event? Anything from putting up posters to telling other people about your event will could help you out.
If you’re organising a big event could you group together with friends and split the jobs, such as contacting the local press, making invitations or taking tickets at the door?
Aim High
Sometimes it will cost money to hold an event. Try to get items donated to your event, and always aim to raise 3 times as much as you spend
Donating the funds you have raised
Set a date and ask for all of your donations to be handed in to so people know when to have their money ready
Please donate all of the lovely money you have raised for us in one go, it makes it easier for both you and us
